FLICK
OFF.

Your channel, on Bitcoin. Every video keeps its title, description and original upload date, signed by you and kept in your own wallet.

Video is big, so nothing happens in one go. Drop your export, see the cost price of every video, and pick what you want to own forever.

Step 1

Get your export from Google.

1

Open Google Takeout

Go to takeout.google.com, signed in as your channel’s Google account. Click Deselect all.

2

Tick YouTube

Tick YouTube and YouTube Music. Under “All YouTube data included”, keep videos and video metadata. The rest is optional.

3

Export and unzip

Google emails you when it’s ready; big channels come in several zips. Download them and unzip into one folder.

Step 2

Pick your videos.

Choose the unzipped Takeout folder. It’s read here in your browser: we only look at file names, sizes and the metadata file. Nothing is uploaded.

Cost price to mint
–

Every video’s title, description and date is included in the price. Minting from this page opens soon: your wallet will sign each video, and nothing is charged without your approval.

Questions

Before you flick it.

Why does video cost more than posts?

Bitcoin is priced by size. A post is a few hundred bytes; a minute of HD video can be tens of megabytes. That’s why you see the price of each video and choose.

Does this touch my YouTube channel?

No. Takeout is a copy. Your channel stays exactly as it is.

Is my export uploaded when I choose the folder?

No. Your browser reads the file names, sizes and the metadata file, nothing else, and nothing leaves your device until you choose to mint.

Who owns the minted videos?

You do. They’re minted to your own bWalletX, signed by you, with their original upload date.
